Leading maritime education and training excellence
The DCCGS for Education and Training, CG-12 is a central staff that assists the Commandant, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in formulating, evaluating, analyzing and reviewing plans, programs and policies in order to provide guidance pertaining to basic, advance, strategic and specialized education and training development of the PCG.
The DCCGS for Education and Training, CG-12 is organized into eight (8) divisions namely: Administrative Division; Logistics and Supply Division; Plans and Program Division; Individual Education and Training Division; Joint and Combined Training Division; General Doctrine and Development Division; and Special Concerns Division.
To provide the Philippine Coast Guard with a responsive education and training program to enhance the professional competence of all Philippine Coast Guard personnel.
a. Formulate broad policies on the education and training needs of PCG personnel.
b. Formulate training objectives, programs, and directives required to attain and maintain professionalism.
c. Supervise and coordinate training exercises and maneuvers with concerned staff.
d. Prepare, review, and evaluate the PCG short-term, mid-term, and long-term education and training program.
e. Prepare the budget for training and act as program director for PCG training funds.
f. Prepare the training and education portion of the PCG program and budget guidance.
g. Formulate plans and policies for acquiring and allocating aids and facilities.
h. Formulate plans and policies on the progressive development of trainers for all PCG training institutions.
i. Supervise the formulation and evaluation of PCG doctrines in coordination with CG-1.
j. Monitor and supervise the implementation of training program of PCG non-uniformed personnel.
k. Collate and evaluate reports of non-uniformed training submitted by PCG subordinate units.
l. Perform other functions as CPCG or Higher Headquarters may direct.
